The temple is beautiful, clean and well maintained. To see the Gautam Buddha statue, you have to walk up a hill. There are 100+ steps. We took about 15mnts. or so. The scenery at the top is great you will see there are prayer flags on the way up. Avoid afternoon if possible. It was hot when we visited the temple. Evening or early morning(after breakfast) times are the best to visit. Our ask is not to litter the location!

A place with a splendid view.. Around 3 kms from mall road. Hv to climb for around 10 mins. Quite difficult. But the sunset view was awesome. A picturesque moment. And the chill breeze was an icing on the cake. A buddha statue and prayer flags are all around..

More remote Himalayan monasteries exist I am sure, but to get a taste of the real thing so close to Mussoorie is a privilege

An uphill climb of 10-15 min through a narrow path and some rough steps gets you to the top of a hill where there is a small Buddha temple. Views from the point are very nice and you can enjoy some nice panoramas. Buddha statue is under renovation when we visited (Nov 2021). Apart from the views, there's nothing much else of historical or cultural significance. Plan on 30-45 min, including the walk up and down. No entry fees. Didn't spot any toilet facilities. There's a tea stall near the start of the climb.

When Dalai Lama fled Tibet, this was the place where he settled down first before moving to McLeodGanj in Himachal Pradesh. This is no touristy place. This is more a place where Tibetans live and you can see their monastery, school and dwellings.

Untouched, beautiful and peaceful. Most tourists don’t prefer visiting this place, maybe that’s why it has remained so beautiful. A lovely complex with Tibetan housing, temples and a school. Clean and neat and well maintained. The trek to the golden Buddha statue on top of the hill is steep but worth the climb. We need to be very mindful when we visit such places - we saw trash like chips packets, plastic water bottles, etc strewn around the trekking path despite signboards asking people not to litter. Plus some people were recording videos with loud and garish music disturbing the sanctity of the place. So when you visit please be mindful of these things, it’s only small steps that tourists can take in order to maintain the beauty and peace of spots like these which make India incredible.

Dalai Hills or Happy Valley as we know it, is an extension mountain peak of the Tibetian Buddhist Temple of Mussorrie.
Till date there is a wonderful civilisation settled of Tibetians around here.
One has to climb for 10 mins wherein he would get to see the total view of the beautiful city from the top.
While climbing up you would come across the Buddha Statue which is where you wanna reach to meditate for a while.
But when you cross that and move ahead towards the mountain ranges you would see the real beauty and the soul would get its peace automatically.
The view from the top is really beautiful and you feel lucky to be able to climb up till here and see this serene earth created by god.
You would realise there is some force which exists who made this all and one should really value it.
There are two tea stalls one before you reach the buddha statue and one after it.
Both are places worth a stop sip some small tea coffee and click beautiful pictures for memory.
The path itself is so lovely wherein there are flags with chants written on it.
Overall I feel blessed to come here.
So if you are in Mussorrie don’t forget to come.
The drive from the Mussorrie library to this place is around 5kms which is not far and there is ample car parking near it after which you need to walk trek and climb.
Have a great climb fellows.

Great place for a visit into the Tibetan community. The temple there is fantastic and make sure you hike up their flag hill. It’s got a great view and a beautiful large Buddha atop. You also can see George Everest’s home across the valley.
