Area wise a big temple (bigger than MADURAI MeenakshiAmmam Temple) and it is maintained by DHIKSHITHERs who are the custodians and the major donors are from CHETTIAR community.

Must visit place, nice gopura, can visit to Pichavaram mangroves, excellent place. In chidambaram lot of options to stay, very nice food we will get

One of the biggest temples in Chidambaram. We were able to get in touch with a priest who took us around the temple and explained the importance behind each idol in a very leisure manner. It takes around 1-1.5 hours to cover the full temple
