Very near to the city. Very strict dress code. Man cannot even take their tops in hand. Only dhoti allowed. Women are allowed only in Saris. Need to cover with a mundu when in Churidhar.

On 2 Jan we with family and friends visited the temple. We got a guide who explained us all about the temple and it’s history. A must visit place in Trivandrum. There is dress code and one need to wear dhoti to enter the temple.
No male person is allowed to enter the Padmanabh Swami temple with full clothes.
Males have to buy Dhoti from the shops there & wear below waist and be bare chested.
Females can wrap Dhoti over their cloths.

You can first visit Padmanabha swamy temple, it takes about twenty minutes by car from airport, Darshana closes by 12 and it’s hence preferred to visit the temple first and from there Kovalam beach is around 45 minutes by car though it’s just 15–17 kms . You can visit lighthouse and Kovalam beach and by six start towards Kanyakumari. It’s a long drive though distance is around 80 kms, keep a cool two and half hours at least for this drive
