This is a magnificent structure and very popular, but only Hindus are allowed into the temple itself. We had a tour of the outside of the temple which was interesting but we would have preferred to enter.

A beautiful and ancient Hindu temple. Only hindus are allowed inside but as a non-Hindu you are allowed to walk around. No photography is allowed. Well worth a visit before entering the two Travancore museums.

There is no regulation in controlling the visitors to have the darshan of the swamy. There was a stampede in front of the sanctum sanctorum.
