Beautiful place in nature's lap. Lake with boating (speed boat, kayak and some other options), picture perfect landscape, tea gardens, exemplary spot for a short break from the city chaos. An extra star for being less crowded.

Need to pay entrance fee before entering. Another place for boating and recreation activities for families. Good pay ans use washrooms available. Scenery around the dam is very good and not to be missed. Tends to get crowded during holidays and weekends.

Due to a good monsoon there should be enough waters. Have read that there are speed boats there and also that the forest dept is discouraging it as it frightens the wild elephants when boats go near them.

I don't think so. If there is no permission required on other days, I can't imagine why they would insist on Oct 2 alone.
