On our way from ULE to Leh we visited the Alchi monastery about 1000years old. It has six temples which have religious scripture. Photography is not allowed in most parts in this monastery.

This is one of the most important place in Ladakh, it is one of the oldest Monastery. its Architecture and Art is beyond compare. so, do visit with open mind.

Alchi is one of the oldest monastery of Ladakh. At present it is maintained by Archiology Survey of India. You can see great wall paintings.

It has more of historical & archealogical importance as it was constructed way back in 735.It is located at around 70 kms from Leh.It is worth a visit mainly from historical point of view

This is quite an old monastery with all it's wooden structure intact. If you are visiting this place, must have momo's at Alchi's Momo at 1st floor just at the corner of the road. Too delicious to miss
