This is a government museum present within the Mubarak Mandi Palace which was residence of Dogra rulers. The Basohli miniature paintings are the most fascinating exhibit here. The museum has a collection of many objects of historical and cultural importance. Dogra costumes, jewellery, arms and armours, metal objects and artifacts related to Decorative arts. There are many paintings also which reflect about the essence of dogra culture

I liked the curator, Mr. Kirpal Singh. He was very kind and helpful. The quality and the subject matter of the paintings were world class. I was happy to see all the different schools of painting that were represented there.
