The water there is so clean and the blue hue makes it even more calm and scenic. The sam is really huge and a nice engineering work.

Pandoh dam is a nice place to stop and admire the natural beauty of the place with river Beas flowing and the dam in the background. The dam was constructed in 1977 for generation of hydro electric power. The place is a favorite tourist stop....More

Enroute we also crossed Pandoh dam – visible from the road across river Beas – this creates a big reservoir in the deep valley of Mandi and very nice to see. We did not stop-by as it was getting dark soon.

On road while going to Manali, you can enjoy the view near the dam and have short break. Though this can be covered without stopping as well as nothing very special.

On the way from Chandigarh to Manali stop here for 15-20 min take some photos with the turquoise blue water of the reservoir in the background. Park you vehicle properly as there is no designated parking spot here.
