- RahMehMumbai, India56 contributionsAwesome Palace and Residence to MaharajaGood nice palace with equally huge gardens and its own golf course. Though only a very very small part of the entire palace is open for public display. They have good AV and give you the Device with earphones to listen entire history & details about the Palace, its history, Royal Family and many things. It hoes on & on for more than 2 hrs. However you just need 30-40 min to look at the area we are allowed to enter. They have a nice small kiosk cafe inside. Overall good.Visited December 2023Traveled with familyWritten January 7, 2024

It's been months since I've visited this place, but the grandeur of the Darbar hall is something I'm not still over!
I had opted for the MP3 audio guide (the earphones need to be improved) so it was quite easy to navigate. The palace is quite beautiful and a lovely place to explore. I was excited to see the vav (the step-well) but they have taken it off the list, and we can't visit those parts of the ground anymore.
I had a cup of coffee and spent some time journaling at the tiny cafe inside the palace grounds.
I spent 3 hours on the palace grounds before heading to the Fatehsingh museum.

Rs.250 Charges is very high to visit some corner of the Palace.
Location is good but charges should be Rs.100 only
Don't waste money to visit this palace.

Must see. The architecture and the collection is amazing. However the local security people are very arrogant and insensitive to senior citizens

The Charges are very high considering the palace and entries which they are showing!!!! Why audio guide is included in the entry ticket !!!! Just to earn money !!! i would prefer to avoid such places which are high in price and nothing worth it .. only thing which i liked was golf ground and entry was restricted .. To sum up this place is to mint money in the name of palace

Can we cover Vadodara and champaner- pavangadh in a day
Sanjay B
Vadodara, India1,527 contributions
It all depends how much time u have, as going to Pavagadh/Champaner which is world heritage , rope way to Mahakali temple and back requires -3-hours provided there is no more queue in ropeway . For seeing Baroda/Vadodara it May be flying visit,as there are so many places to see. Say min. -1- hr in Laxmi Vilas Palace, another hr for Fatehsinh museum, -2 to 3- hrs for Kamatibaug museum,Zoo , garden etc , then other places EME temple, Kashi Wishvanath temple, Isckon temple and many more . It may require 3-5 days . Though as s flying visit you can do both. Thanks & wish you happy stay in Baroda😊
i would like to visit this place and am in vadodara.how much do i pay to enter and take a tour? i also have three other friends with me?

the rates for per person is 200. it was rate of last year. for this year, it may be different. Along with entry pass, you will get a mp3 player in different languages. You can use it as per your convenience. It works as your personal guide.

Vadodara, India94 contributions
200 Rs. each, which includes Tour with flexible time to spend there and Audio device. They will collect Audio device, once your visit over. There is no difference between Local and Outside, I visited this place with one of my USA foreigner colleagues, and we paid same for both of us.

Hello.
Tickets can only be purchased at the kiosk just in front of the actual palace building.
If you can't easily find it, then most of the staff can at least point you in the right direction.
Cost is around 150-200 INR, and don't forget that the palace is not open Monday or Bank holidays.
Hope this helps.

Vadodara, India61 contributions
The entrance ticket cost is Rs. 200/- per person. You get an audio-hearing device in your preferred language which explains the palace. Also if you do not wish to take and audio hearing device, you can simply join the tour with a guide who will guide you through the palace and its history. The timings are 10:00 am to 05:00 pm from Tuesday to Sunday. It remains closed on Monday.
