We visited on a wet rainy afternoon. This is a very interesting geologic formation, and helps you understand how the islands were formed. The walk inside is not strenuous but does get narrow and require about 20 feet of crawling over rocks at a narrow...More

A very interesting lava tunnel which developed from a cooling of the roof above the lava stream. Must visit if you are around.

It's nice to walk through here, but if you have been in some impressive caves already then there's nothing that will impress you here. Visit in combination with a visit on the Rancho Primicias.

As someone who is claustrophobic, I was wary of the tunnels but pushed myself and I'm so glad I did! it was very open with high ceilings and the one low part is super quick and not intimidating at all. The insides are beautiful and...More

Unusual experience but make sure you go with a guide to ensure you get a good description of the formation and all the flora and fauna. Watch out for the gymnastics needed to get through he last section, practise the plank before you go!

We have been to many lava tubes around the world and this would be a good introduction for anyone who has not been in one yet. It is supposed to be the largest one in the Galapagos Islands but it is not that long. They...More

An amazing huge place, well lit right through but the small opening at the end could be challenging though the guide explained all about this, also quite slippery walking- walking boots are needed

We tied it in with El Chato, Los Gamelos, El Garapaterro, and The Magic Swing, rented a taxi for our group for the day and just went. If the weather was nicer we would have done the day at the beach alone, but otherwise a...More

Our taxi driver took us here after visiting a tortoise sanctuary. This is unique visit and something that people seldom get to see. The tunnel is about 600m and has lights inside. Our taxi dropped us on one side and picked us up on the...More

This tunnel was a neat experience if you are visiting the tortoise reserve but I wouldn't drive up just for this. The tunnel was cool but the floor could get slippery in places and at one point you have to slither on your belly to...More

No there is no entrance fee to the tunnel. It you do need to get a taxi there and that is about 25 USD. The taxi will wait at the far end for you to take you back. If you are going to the tunnel, it is worth it to go to... More
