This church is located right beside the sea. You will first notice it’s stone bell tower as you approach. We were fortunate to visit right after Christmas, and it was still had a couple Christmas trees at the altar and other festive decorations.

This nice cathedral is a 14th century Benedictine abbey and is located in St. James park, near vila Angiolina, which is transformed into museum.

Small church close to the sea. It is very romantic and on the way of Lungomare promenade - you can not miss it. If you pray walk in and pray in peace and at the end light the candle for good wishes.

It's located between the water and the main street of the town and perhaps because it was a weekday...the church and the grounds in front were nearly deserted. It's worth a visit if you're in the area.

The Cathedral of Saint Jakova is a must see if you are visiting Opatija. Take time from the beach and spend thirty minutes visiting this beautiful and well preserved church. It is well worth your time.

This church is built on the site where an ancient abbey stood around which, as said, the city of Opatija grew. Parts of the church date from the early 16th century, but the majority of its current structure was reconstructed and repaired in 1937. The...More

The Sv. Jakova cathedral is the Main church for weddings. On Saturday, they are non-stop. The CAthedral is very old but has been refurbished and is right on the sea making it very popular.
