This museum was very interesting to me because of the commentary of my guide who was very knowledgeable. He only spoke French and no English, by the way. He explained each item in the museum and made them all make sense within the context of...More

Visited it and learned a lot. There are many statues that are still not exposed and kept in storage. At the end of the visit, you can have a drink outside

Recently renovated/reopened, the museum has a good collection of dispalyes about the cultural diversity of the country. Key displays also often translated into English. Worth using one of the guides - mine was quite informative.

Small but interesting museum with exhibits including Neolithic implements, masks from all over Cote d'Ivoire, fetish figurines, and kings' objects. interesting contemporary exhibits too. Definitely worth a visit.

It is not always easy to locate attractions in Cote D'Ivoire. This place was closed, we could see no enrtance open at all and the courtyards were filled with building materials. Shame.

When I stopped by in July 2016, the museum building itself was closed. A back section was open where you could pay a small amount to look at a few dusty photographs of the artifacts. I declined to do so. Hope it gets fully restored...More

I liked the people I met in Cote D'Ivoire. Friendly and businesslike as and when the circumstances needed to be. But then the compulsory - let us show you our culture bit comes. Frankly, I think the gorgeous clothes the women wear, the fabrics, the...More

What a disappointment, considering that this is the national museum, for such a country that has more money than many of its neighbours. The National Museum in Liberia and Afghanistan has more to offer, and they are even poorer countries. Still it was worth a...More
