This area gives a visitor an opportunity to see "tourist" China. It was fun to walk around and see everything and sample street food. yes it is touristy, but we were tourists and it was fun for an hour or two.

Vibrant and interesting. Sidewalk cafes and wee shops. Traffic can be dodgy. Worth a vizit but nor a priorty.

We stayed here in the Buddha Zen Hotel so we had ample time to explore these streets and to get on nodding terms with the locals. People come here for the Wenshu Temple but there is so much more. Lines of teahouses, food stalls, Tibetan...More

While my friends were off to visit pandas, I was sick and stayed at the hotel. Feeling a little better I wondered into this area and was struck by the feeling of authentic culture and flavor. It was wonderful, colorful and delicious day.
