The costumes are amazing, if you never have been to a Chinese opera, please try this, even if you do not know Mandarin, the motions are so over the top, you can figure it out

We bought tickets through our hotel as a last minute decision. We only had a couple of nights in Chengdu and we were staying about 100m from the opera location. We paid 120RMB per ticket ($25AUD) and these were mid-level seats. I’d say don’t go...More

Book VIP tickets if you can afford to as you are much closer to all the face changing and fire breathing action. The Musicians, actors, singers, dancers, puppeteers and acrobats were very entertaining. Don't miss it. I've been on both my Chengdu trips, the first...More

The show is not very entertaining. There was a long section with some comedy act that was boring. Also, some stories are specific to Chinese tales or something, so its difficult to understand what's going on.

I don’t know what to say really. We didn’t like it. I would have stayed throughout the duration of the show but my wife was tuned off to it. We had already viewed a similar show and have watched Beijing Opera. We weren’t fans then...More

Show lasts approx 70 minutes and is a bright and colourful collection of scenes portraying human interactions, traditional operatic costumery, audio, acrobatics, and fascinating, intriguing face changing sequences. I'm still trying to work out how the performers manage to change the masks they wear in...More

A nice little theatre. Has drinks, refreshments, toilets. Face changing part was great, I have never seen a show like it.

We were taken there as part of our tour around China and to be truthful I was not looking forward to this at all. I am so glad that I went in the end as it turned out to be one of my favourite nights...More
