Of course, it is beautyful quiet place. But - not only worth to see, also worth to understanding. In the pieces of beauty are hidden symbols of chinese tradiction, gems of traditional landscape, yin-yang artefacts... it is a lot of unclear transmissions everywhere in the...More

We took a tour of the garden with a guide which was very informative. We may have missed much of the detail without him. It was interesting to hear how the house was divided up. After a few days in Beijing, I felt that we...More

Our tour guide described this place as a sort of respite for a particular artist and scholar, and indeed it has the hallmark of a learning centre. The gardens themselves are as usual quite inspiring, as a scholar would wish. In addition to the traditional...More

Beautiful scenery in the center of Suzhou. A little crowded; visit the garden early in the morning. Nice to drink tea in the tea house. We even had some live music.

Such a beautiful place to visit. The rooms are excellent, the gardens are beautiful and photo opportunities are extensive! Loved it.

Typical Chinese garden, with all the elements that give harmony to your life ... one lake, plants, stones ... each corner is different, with windows and doors that frame living pictures. You must spend a long time there.

Small unique style garden with many historic features. Not crowded at this time of year. Wouldn't need to go again though but was worth seeing the architecture and interesting listening to the history of the place.

There are some lovely parts to this house but it's not somewhere I'd visit again. There are some nice stories to the house and gardens but really there's nothing really special to see when compared with some of the other amazing houses and gardens you...More

I was touring around the gardens with my family and this was our final stop on that day. Walking around some of the narrows paths were hard with the volume of people in attendance and some issues of people not sharing the space came up.
