Not many galleries, but the exhibits are of quality. The museum’s focus is on modern Chinese art (i.e. after 1900), and offers a refreshing glimpse into trends and styles. It’s hard to generalise because the artists all have individual styles, but it is fascinating how...More

Included was a performance of the treasured ancient bells and that was worth the visit, but the artifacts that are included are even more amazing. They include items from 433 BC and range from bronzes and laquerware to the chimes that weigh over 5,525 pounds.

Highpoints, beyond the permanent exhibits, were a Sean Scully exhibit and the various calligraphy exhibits.

Very nice looking wax art of the displays! Overall, it was one of my favourite places to see the wonderful exhibitions of the museum...there are lots of paintings of Hubei during the Shang and the Zhou Dynasties, it was very intrinsic.

If you like abstract art pieces then you will like this place but it has only 1 floor of exposition. Anyway entrance is free so no harm checking out.

The museum is located next to the Wuhan Museum - so you could spend a whole rainy and/or day in museums. The exhibition is very modern and some things are really surprising/funny. I did not expect this high level and I never saw it again...More

very open feel, nice to just walk around and not feel "crowded" as this city is so very crowded. I enjoyed the peacefulness of this place, lots of benches to just sit and relax. On a hot day, it is nice to come here and...More

Next door to the more disappointing Wuhan Museum, the art museum is another very large, modern building, but there is a lot more to see. Although many of the galleries were closed when I visited, there's a lot of very funky modern art and even...More
