Quite a nice little beach with excellent beginner surf. Good selection of hostels, small eateries and beach side cafe areas. The sand is quite dirty with lots of garbage through the sand, and loads of wild dogs, and so lots of dog droppings so you have to be careful where you walk. The cove itself is nice, with a good selection of landmarks to walk to. It wasn't too busy when we visited.

This place is such a contrast to everything else in the whole Santa/Haitang Bay Area. You go to the WuZhizhou Ferry terminal, but keep going. There’s a Main Street with restaurants and shops, but all very laid back. The surprise is the row of surf schools about two blocks to the right of the Main Street. Jile, 8MM, Addicition Inn all have beachfront access. They all rent boards and many provide accomodation. The day my son and I visited, the surf was minuscule, but he was still able to ride the waves in on a light longboard. Water is beautiful and clean. Can’t imagine how big it would get. Would stay here overnight next time and chill. Hope it stays the same.

There is beautifull place with wery relax atmosphere.
You can Surf you believe it or not. There is also possible just to relax and swim in shallow area don't go any heavy waves to risk your safety. Instead you look at them from far and enjoy. There is plenty on place to stay and enjoy cosy surf style hotels with nice price.
Barbecue at the city in the night is with wery nice price especially sea food...Enjoy;)

Pretty bay surrounded by lush tropical rain forest mountains as well as the Houhai Village. If you snorkel out to the point on the left hand side it is possible to see some corals (brain coral variety). I even saw a moray eel. The middle section of the bay it is possible to surf. But there is one almighty eyesore in the form of a giant quarry where there is regular blasting. The water is warm, shallow and calm in many places.

This is my favorite place nearby Sanya. Bus 28 takes you here for 12rmb. You can catch it in front of the pineapple mall. By McDonald's. Plenty of delicious restaurants. I love the calamari and Hainan chicken at Sasa. The Hainan chicken is their specialty and everyone needs to try it. Also lots of street BBQ and hotpot.

Certainly one of the most beautiful bays in China. Shallow, calm clear water, as clean as you will find near any populated area. However, the blasting and excavating of one of the bordering mountains is a major eyesore, not to mention unnerving. A cluster of "boutique hotels" line the beach. The rooms are reasonable, but the food is generally deplorable. Be on guard for the mosquitoes here...they are an especially toxic variety.

There are bars all around the bay. The neon signs from the bar reflects on the bay and it looks cool. Like something out of a movie.
However don't order any drinks at these bars. I ordered a low range whisky such as Jameson - neat. (60rmb) And the smell of the "whisky" was almost like rubbing alcohol. I took a sip and decided to ditch the drink since I didn't know what they used. I can only imagine what they'll give you for top shelf whisky.
Go for a walk here but avoid any drinks at these bars. It's too bad since it would have been nice to enjoy a safe drink in this nice area.

Nice bay less the hustle and bustle of Sanya's hecticness. It still has a selection of hotels and restaurants and is a safe and clean swimming area. Easy to reach by public bus number 28 as well.
