A great place to learn about the colonization efforts of foreign powers and the struggles with opium. One can understand the forces which shaped China and Hong Kon!

Nicely done and very comprehensive, though a little sobering for British visitors confronting a colonial past. Very well maintained and well worth a visit to learn more about this pivotal episode in recent Chinese history.

I wasn't expecting much when I first looked the museum up. However it's a really interesting place that for free is good value. It's also quite interesting seeing the Chinese version of events during the opium wars (I'm english)

The war museum is an eye opener and makes it very clear how we British were not good people . We are lucky to be allowed into China the way our ancestors behaved
