The best way to view the White Pagoda is to include a visit to the Steel bridge as part of your visit. There is a cable car available to take you to the top of the mountain, but most people, even not so fit, can...More

One thing I like about Lanzhou is that most of the attractions are free including this Baita Shan (White Pagoda Mountain). I think other cities and provinces should learn from Lanzhou not to tax visitors with the hefty admission charges. Public bus no.25 and 142...More

This entire area is free to visit, with many temples and pavilions en route, none of which charge an entrance fee. You can hike up and down various routes, but probably the best way to see the sights is to take the cable car up...More

There is an option here to take a cable car to the top and hike down for ¥35, but the entire park is free. There are many paths and cafes and places to take a rest during the hike. Beautiful views of the bridge and...More

I lived in Lanzhou for 4 years and visited this mountain in all four seasons with students. The mountain is not so high (a very easy climb) and offers a great panorama of the city and the river from the top. There are lots of...More

Nothing hugely spectacular, but a lovely place to wander around. We got the cable car up which was about 40rmb as I recall, Definitely a good decision as it's a steep climb (and who doesn't love a cable car?). We then followed the signs down...More

As we were due back home in the evening, we went to White Pagoda Mountain early morning to stroll up the mountain. It gives a nice view of Lanzhou and Yellow River. Before you reach White Pagoda Mountain, you will pass through Zhongshan bridge straddling...More

Just across the Zhong Shan Bridge is Baita Park. There is much more than just the pagoda. There are a number of classical buildings, temples and lots of shady areas to sit and relax, like the locals do. There are a number of teahouses as...More

Thoroughly enjoyed our 1.5 hour walk up and down through this park. The park is vertical on the side of a low mountain with the White Pagoda on the top. It is a leisurely walk up, not overly strenuous. There is also a cable car...More

There is an easy climb up to the top of the mountain, as with everything in China, it's all paved and covered in stairs. Nice view of the city from the top.
