It is a wide but crowded walking street.European style building. Most shops that you can find here u can find in Gulangyu. The Huang Zehe shop sells typical hokkien food which is kinda oily.

Excellent place to explore the Xiamen sea-street-food. It has a great vibe and has all the modern shops as well as the local specialities. At the start of Zhongshan Road you have a great view in the event to Gulangyu Island

Nice to wander along this pedestrian street with arcades to be in the shade ! There are not many shops, but mostly food, fruit, nuts, tea clothes and jewels, mainly the Xiamen pearls. Nothing very original. Only one book shop (but the maps of Xiamen...More

It's a good street to look around, picking up stuff you might think are interesting. Clothes and food prices are not a bargain. I saw some good seafood restaurant displaying their menu's dishes, some malls and other department stores. Make sure you hand the taxi...More

The stretch of Zhongshan Road is closed for shoppers. Here you will see high end brands and stores (nike, adidas, Sephora, etc.) and we discovered that there are also some buildings where the shops sell cheap items. Take note though that some shops are too...More

Lots of different local foods to try. Interesting shops and no traffic which made it easy to look and not worry about getting run over by a car or moped.

if you stay away from big name brands, then yes. is really cheap. I did all my souvenir shopping for 20+ people with only 300 yuan.
