The toughest part is the hike to get to the hike. It is possible to take public transportation, but it only gets you half the way there. You first need to walk along Avenida Independencia towards the reserve and find this 'microbus' along the way....More

The reserva nacional magellanes lies just outside of downtown Punta Arenas and especially if you have your iwn wheels, it offer a few nice walks with beautiful vistas. The park rangres charge an entry fee (cash only), but fee is well worth it.

Low level of difficulty hiking through the forest up to a great viewpoint overlooking Punta Arenas to the Strait of Magellan. Lots of wild rabbits everywhere, but no fox or puma sighting :-(
