What a special place to visit. Beautiful penguins all over the place. We were there in mating season so it was amazing to see the males calling out.

You get to spend about an hour walking the defined path through the colony. Quite an experience to see these critters busy preening ans waddling around.

We took the fast speedboat to the island and really pleased we did as it meant there were very few tourists and we were able to stay longer. We were very lucky that the water was smooth and the sun shining. Seeing these penguins and...More

Show up at the harbor at 9, buy a ticket and wait for the boat to leave. 2 1/2 hour trip each way but a thrill of a lifetime

We visited the island in mid-March. At this time of year, some companies stop sailing, others sail only in the afternoon. There are fewer visitors - only 10 on our boat with capacity for 60. It is the end of the penguin season - the...More

We booked a tour through Viator and then we ended up meeting the tour group at an office called Solo Expediciones. It was a great tour. I don't think there is public transportation to the island, I think it is only allowed... More

When I took the tour, I went to the company’s office in town. There bus went directly to where the boat left for the island. Perhaps some companies start at the port. Or perhaps the cruise company can arrange. If all else... More
