It is 30 minute drive from Siem Reap and then a short and steep walk up to the top. The temples itself are not very impressive after visiting Angkor Wat. But if offers stunning views over the nearby villages and the surrounding wetlands of Tonle Sap. You should come here to see the sunset! As the entry fee is already included within the Angkor Pass, it is a good half-day option to calm down after exhausting days in Angkor.

Signage is not too clear, the temple still under construction, it is supposed to be good to view sunset but unfortunately we visited on rainy day, long walk to reach the temple, and at that time it was quite empty..almost no visitor around sunset time.

Fabulous view. I paid a guy to take me up and back down on his moto. Well worth the few dollars spent considering the temperature was 38C.

First thing!! You need your Angkor Wat pass to visit here...
the pass allows you to visit all temples around Siem Reap and is currently on offer, purchase 1 day ticket and get 3 days. Purchase 2 and get 5 etc.
Second thing - wow what a beautiful ancient ruins on top of a mountain. Out of the way of tourists and visited mainly by locals. This is a gem for sure. As many reviews state, there is a steep up hill walk followed by steps to get to the top! Don’t let this put you off, just get there when the sun isn’t at its hottest otherwise it’s a killer. As we found out haha. We got some amazing drone footage of these beautiful temples and the views surrounding phnom khron are again worth the visit!

It’s a quick walk from the bottom of the mountain (15-20min), you also can drive up to the very top. The view is stunning, however literally right after sunset a guard came with a whistle and kicked everybody out. Staying up there for 20-30 min more would have provided a much more beautiful view (sky was not red yet). Pretty unfortunate - still worth a visit I’d say.

Prasat Phnom Krom is a temple at the top of mountain, we need to climb a little to reach the top. The old temples and the view are magnificent!!
You can see the paddy fields, villages, Tonle Sap Lake..take your time to look around...
We saw kids swimming in the pond, baby goats playing...and the sunset is breathtaking!
why u MUST visit!
- local people come here!
- less crowd
- street food, picnic spot available
- great view (bird view!)
- the old temple speaks stories
reminder:
Angkor Pass needed

Our tuktuk driver drove us here, it was around 20 minutes of drive from Siem Reap city. After climbing up the stairs, a guard asked to show our Angkor Pass.
There’s a pretty old temple up there.
Be prepared to do some climbing and hiking for the beautiful sunsets, facing the Tonle Sap Lake. 🌄

how long does it take if I ride a bike?

Ride a bike. I think 25min max. But the road is not so good, some more after sunset there is almost no street light to light up the roadside. Be careful. Take care
Do you have to book the tours ahead of time or can you book upon arrival at the hotel?

To prebook will save you more time & $ wise. As you'll be able to do price comparison.
