The hill is very rocky; local legend has it that the rocks were exposed by the monkey general Hanuman during a hunt for medicine in the Ramayana epic. The area beyond the temple’s west gate affords a spectacular view of the Tonle Sap Lake. The...More

I bicycled there, along the river road, saw lots of communities, had a cold drink from some kids. Climbing the steps is good exercise. If you don't have a valid Angkor ticket, you can pay $5 to continue up the steep hill to the ruins...More

We rented out bicycles to get there and it was one heck of a ride over there (the worst part being the city centre of Siem Reap, however the majority of the ride was much calmer and therefore pleasant as we rode alongside nice fields)....More

Visited Phnom Krom in Jan 2017. Nice sunset but definitely no longer a hidden gem, there were at least 20-30 other people on the hill with me. Still worth a visit though.

The temple is attractive - although weathering and erosion on the craving is pretty obvious. Still mysterious to look at! But the general absence of people just make this place magnificent. Sunsets was all mine! Breathtaking! I rode me bike all the way from hotel...More
