It wad a nice fall day when we went there. There is a little climb to get the best view, a gravel trail, not the safest. The views were cool from up there. There are hiking trails also available.

My sister and I hiked from Rockport S.P. north to Besser Natural Preserve this afternoon. We left a vehicle at the Besser N.P. and were dropped off at Rockport and hiked from south to north along the trail closest to Lake Huron. Despite several other...More

We arrived after sunset and before the moon rose. Great view of the stars - bring a flashlight. The boat launch is in the same area, but did not cause any light issues for the stargazers.

Pictures don't do it justice. My husband and I had a great time exploring all Rockport had to offer. I would suggest good walking or hiking shoes. Go climb the rocks to the very top and take it all in. Rockport is defiantly a place...More

We are frequently in the area during the summer and decided to go for something g different to do. I would probably not make a return trip. It is a 4 mile drive off of US 23. The road to the park is not i...More

Participated in a triathlon over the weekend. Had the opportunity to really explore many miles of trails. The views are great and really show such a diversity in one park. Very primitive and remote. The water is crystal clear. There are a bunch of things...More

It's fairly easy to climb the big pile of rocks - spectacular view! Several groups were fishing on the pier, or whatever you call the big piece of land where ships used to stop to get loaded with rocks. There was also a big group...More

Spent about an hour here climbing the Rick pile and looking out on the lake. Found a few fossils, and the old pier is a popular place for fishing and swimming. I would have liked to see the dark skies, but the bugs got the...More

Not much to do, but the view is gorgeous. The kids enjoyed walking the trails and fishing. A rustic little park that can be enjoyed by everyone.

There's no official campground there but I've camped anyway. Hiked up the two-track that parallels the shoreline and found some sandy beach area, which was a sweet campsite for tents and roughing it. Haven't logged onto TA... More

No official campground there, and a sign reads that the place is under video surveillance. I doubt it! There's no gate to keep you out either. I don't think I've read any "No Camping" signs there. Truth is, I've camped... More
