Experience several desert pursuits in one outing, including ATV-driving—something many tours only offer at an extra cost—on this red-dune desert tour from Dubai. Skip the hassle of transport and logistical planning; and be free to simply enjoy the dunes and activities provided. Zoom off on an ATV, ride a camel, go sandboarding; enjoy henna art and Arabian-costume photos; and conclude with a barbecue-buffet dinner and live shows.

Well - this was a great change from most of Dubai and we really enjoyed the session with Tracey, who explained a lot we didn't know about the Muslim religion. Everyone is super friendly and we asked a lot of questions. It created a very positive impression of the UAE with their open approach to discussion. Highly recommended - then we went to the Emirates Museum which is 5 minutes drive away - fabulous building and worth 45 minutes to understand the background to the formation of the UAE.

The mosque tour, hosted by the Sheikh Mohammed Centre for Cultural Understanding, was a perfect introduction to Arabic culture and Islam. It was inexpensive, aimed at non-Muslims and we never felt as though it was a sermon or a hard-sell. The guide spoke perfect English and was happy to answer any questions. This is a great opportunity to ask all those questions you were always afraid to ask.

We took a taxi to the Jumeirah Mosque and had a very pleasant registration and refreshment introduction. The group were then shown by 'volunteers' the cleansing process before entering the mosque which was very lighthearted and amusing. We then entered the mosque for an explanation of the muslim beliefs which would have been great apart from the acoustics which made the commentary difficult to hear. On leaving the mosque there were no taxis around and you can't stop one on the main roads (not allowed). Spotting a taxi we ran over but he said he had finished for the day as would most other taxi drivers. Only option was a bus but not having a clue we fortunately saw another taxi and he was still working. It made the visit a bit stressful but all in all we enjoyed the visit.

A very strange place. Wouldn't recommend visiting unless you want to succumb to some serious ancient rules. Not for anyone who is modern in their thinking.

A guided tour of the Mosque starts with registering and then going to the lounge where light refreshments are available. A guided tour is given, with an interesting talk on their faiths and beliefs. Very friendly and informative. Recommended.
