It was at mid Friday that I wanted to see the new “hot spot” in town nested in a spot on the beach. The entrance is well marked but there were no signs for parking. After a couple of going around with several u-turns, finally spotted the huge entrance to underground parking from the very north end. To find it, one driving north on Jumeira Beach Road sees the huge sign to the left where there is a drop off cul-de-sac area. Going around and out to the left, head north inside La Mer to the far north end go right then at the Main Street signal, make a u-turn and drive towards the sea when one spots to the left the entrance to the underground parking. It looks like Blue Waters parking (both of same age I think). One needs to go to the center section, park, go up the escalator and out between wooden shops. Most are closed with a only 1 restaurant and one coffee shop open. Most people there were to stroll and bask in the sun on such a cool and sunny day (my fav type of weather). The beach is made as an enclave to feel like a private bch but all neat and clean. We headed out as the crowds were flocking in.…

By far my favorite place in dubai. Beach access is free. There are a lot of restaurants and so many food options. Perfect for a beautiful day.

Whether you want to just chill out and read a book or participate in one of the many water sports in offer here, this beach has something for everyone. There’s even an aqua park, a carousel and swings undercover. There is a variety of eating/drinking establishments and toilet/shower/changing facilities. You can choose to hire sun loungers or just rock up and crash out on your towel. The beach is very clean. We went during the Covid era, but there was social distancing, mask wearing when walking around and lots of hand sanitizer. I would definitely go there again. …

I’ve eaten at Salt when they had a mobile unit downtown Dubai near the fountains. Now they have an established unit at La Mer, Dubai. The premises are so clean and spacious with seating indoors and outdoors with social distancing in place and hand sanitizer available. The menu is visible via a QR code so you browse very easily. I opted for the ‘hook’ slider with hook sauce, wagu beef patties. The food is always made fresh and is always hot on delivery. The fire fries were ok, I personally think I prefer the standard fries as the sauces are an over kill. However, the black lemonade is always so refreshing and the black appearance is only activated charcoal giving the colour. Price point, more than your average burger or slider, but Salt is different and they achieve this so it’s worth paying slightly more for the quality. Customer service is always fantastic although I wish they wouldn’t suggest add on’s like ice creams etc when I have the menu to view myself, but I think that’s the mindset of the servers. That’s my only negative aspect of Salt. I would say let the customers choose from the menu. …

La Mer is of my favorite place, it’s a “commercial” district. Take a walk in this district, admire the incredible works of the artists. There's something for everyone. It's clearly the ideal place for a relaxing afternoon. Between shopping, restaurants, coffee, there is everything you need. La Mer is much more than a district because it's above all a very pleasant beach. I advise you to spend a morning strolling, then have lunch in one of the many restaurants (not expensive at all; I recommend the Cheekery for a good wrap and Holà Delight for an ice cream) and to end the day with sun on the beach which is very calm except on Friday (day off in Dubai).…
