The area
Neighborhood: Jumeirah
Years ago, before the skyscrapers, before the 12-lane highway, there was only Jumeirah. In fact, when the UAE was formed, its rulers signed the agreement in Union House, at the very start of Jumeirah Beach Road. Often called “The Beverly Hills” of Dubai, a drive down Beach Road reveals one enormous, lavish villa after another. Originally residential-only neighborhoods, they are now also home to an array of cafes, smart boutiques, and art galleries. Home to one of Dubai’s few public beaches, this recently renovated area includes a new boardwalk, running and walking track, with changing facilities and cafes along the way. Another landmark, Jumeirah Mosque, is the only mosque in Dubai that can be entered by non-Muslims. As part of the Sheikh Mohammed Centre for Cultural Understanding, the mosque hosts regular tours and talks about Islam, as part of an “Open Doors, Open Minds” program. A wonderful way to understand more about the UAE and Islam.

Favorite beach. Sometimes crowded, however overall good. Decorations are the best part of this place. Through the app Sunsational by Meraas you can get discounts for restaurants at La Mer. Любимый пляж, хоть зачастую людный. Обожаю декорации в Гавайском стиле и рисунки на стенах. Через приложение Sunsational by Meraas можно получить скидки на местные заведения

    An Absolute Must-See
La Mer has fast become one of my favorite things about Dubai. Not only is the beach gorgeous, but the walkway stretches a few kilometres and is filled with beautiful restaurants, cafes and shops. La Mer is like nothing I've ever seen before - at times you feel as if you're exploring a movie set. The attention to detail and amount of effort that's been put into the design is remarkable. There are couples, friends, families, locals and expats all around and the vibe is great.Perfect for a beautiful day out in the sun. Beach access is free however you can choose to pay for the use of beach towels, sun loungers and showers.
Hi WhitneyG180, thank you for the positive feedback! We're always happy to hear good things from our guests. La Mer Team

Looking for a luxury ambience? Try visiting La Mer
Go in the evening, relax on the beach for a while, and then stroll among the stores and restaurants. There's something for the whole family to enjoy at La Mer. If you're coming for the beach, arrive a little early so you can find a parking spot quickly. Please be aware that visitors to La Mer are not permitted to bring their own food or beverages. You won't find any of the usual food court brands here, either. Because certain activities are only available in a given direction, you should explore the entire area. What irritated me is that the area where you may sit and enjoy the view of the beach is full of smoke and cigarettes.' The cost of renting sun chairs was extremely expensive. The outside showers were fee-based. It is provided completely for free on other beaches. There is a free and paid play area. Parking in La Mer is highly pricey! They will charge at least 20 dirhams per hour. Valet parking costs 55 dirhams. There are basement parking choices. Parking is free if you spend more than 100 dirhams. La Mer might be added to the list of places to go for a luxury meal from open restaurants. Hawa Hawa, La Mer's outdoor trampoline park, Roxy theatre and Laguna Waterparkneeds to be considered during your visit here. There are a few stalls where teens and adults can try their luck at the games too ! If you're lucky, you'll be able to attend a stage performance or a DJ night like this for free! Entry to La Mer is also free.
Greetings from La Mer! Thank you for your positive review. We would like to know more about your experience. Please reach out to us at customerservice@thebeach.ae

I simply do not understand what happened to this place as it was one of the most beautiful and incredible themed beach sites in Dubai! Beauty and design in every corner and tons of food options.
A pretty solid waterpark and great views. What can go wrong ? I honestly do not know but the already destroyed half of it and what is left seems abandoned. Most restaurants closed or are about to close - as well as the waterpark. Very sad !!

Why you ask ? It could be because of the high parking fees ? Or given the fact that the beach is not one of the most beautiful ones in Dubai (comparable with the branches of the palm) .

Still sad to see as I was a huge fan !

We went evening time and hardly anyone about. A strange mix of street stalls, coffee shops and all in what can be described as shabby chic style. Half of plan es closed down and we heard they are beginning to demolish the buildings and redeveloping the whole La Mer beach area. Not worth going at present. May be OK when re-developed

Went to visit La Mer beach today and was super disappointed. It was a ghost town nothing was opened and entire area was empty wish we researched recent reviews prior to going as later on we learned that this beach was going to be demolished and redeveloped. The parking garage was very dark, empty, and creepy. We were going to park there but decided not to. To save yourself the hassle do not visit anytime soon.

A public beach designed in a neighbourhood concept with walkways, lanes and restaurants lined up along the beach. Entry is free and provides a safe space for families and friends alike to spend an enjoyable evening.
