During my last Business Trip to Lebanon I made a special point to stop by one of my most favorite Wineries called: Château St. Thomas or Clos St. Thomas.
St Thomas is located in the small village of: Kab-Elias just south of Chtaura and is just off the main Damascus/Beirut Highway.
Clos St Thomas is a medium sized winery and has a very nice small Tasting Room plus an outstanding Cave to visit.
Our Wine Tasting session was fantastic as we had tasted nine or ten different vintages. The tasting included their most popular three White Wines first was a fantastic Château Obeidy Wine made 100% from a local indigenous grape variety called Obeidy; then their Les Gourmet Blanc which is a combination of four grape varieties: Sauvignon Blanc; Chardonnay; Viognier and Obeidy and finally a 100% Chardonnay all were quite flavorsome and delightful. They served one light Rose Wine that was nice. I was most impressed with their selection and quality of their five Red Wines. All were excellent in my humble opinion. The majority of their wines are priced between $5 to $15 USD per bottle with the very top Château St. Thomas Red Wine costing only $20.
I have at home a magnum of their Château St. Thomas 2009 in my Wine Cellar. I have been saving it for a very special occasion.
The Wine Tasting now cost each person $6. USD and includes a short Wine Tour.
The last time I descended into their large cave was maybe ten years ago. Now they have really improved the interior of their cave. The lighting is amazing and they have placed many terrific photos of the history and ownership of their vineyard along the walls. At the far end they have a large amount of their Oak Barrows for their wine aging.
All-in-all I highly suggest that you visit the Château St. Thomas you will not be disappointed, trust me.

A family run winery, tour was conducted by one of the daughters of the founder. The family carry on their father's legacy. Short tour of the cellar was good, then the tasting, lots of information and history, I sampled about 8 wines across their range plus some arak.
Purchased 3 bottles to take home.

I did tasting at 2 other wineries Ksara and Keyfraya, neither came close in quality or wines offered, but charge same.

This small, family run vineyard is a hidden jewel about an hour's drive outside of Beirut, up in the Bekaa Valley. There were 3 of us and we were the only people there, so it was like our own private tour and tasting! The wine cellar was beautiful - so atmospheric, full of barrels and subtle lighting. There is a beautiful tiny church built into the rocks where you can even get married.
At the very generous wine tasting after the tour, Joe Assaad Touma, the son of the owner, came in to get some wine he was tasting with his father for a new bottling. He stayed to chat to us about the vineyard, his family, wine in general. We are working in Kuwait and so wine is off limits for us, so this really added to the overall experience for us. As we left, we saw Joe and his father with lots of glasses and red wines on a big table. They invited us over and let us taste one of the new bottlings they are planning. A truly wonderful experience! Thank you so much to everyone at Chateau St Thomas! If we could buy you in Kuwait, we would! I'll just have to find you back in the UK this summer!

Was introduced to this boutique winery in the Bekaa, whilst visiting the much larger Kefraya nearby. This is most definitely a perfect addition to the wine tasting of the region. Ronnie and his team have the pleasure and beauty of having a lot more time to walk and talk you through the caves and then the wine tasting too.

The family vibe of the Touma family is really felt and the Obeidy grape and wine is fantastic and unique to this winery.

Totally worth the detour and now a regular for me with friends and family.

We were driving around the Beqaa Valley and this was one of 3 wineries we went to - it was the best by far! Got to try 8 wines - all very drinkable! Definitely worth a visit!

Château St. Thomas is my top and most favorite Lebanese Vineyard to enjoy an impressive wine tour and a great session in their rustic Wine Tasting Room.
Most importantly are their wide selection of wines, both Whites; Roses and Reds. I especially enjoy their newly introduced: Obeidy St. Thomas! In which they use an old traditional Lebanese table grape and made a very interested a fresh tasting white wine!
I believe I have been visiting Château St. Thomas in the Bekaa Valley since 2011 and on each repeat visit I have the same great feeling that their wines are far superior to many of the other Lebanese Vineyards!
The entire staff is extremely friendly and quite knowledgeable as to the various wines that are produced within their extensive vineyards!
I don’t care in which season you stop by Château St. Thomas; each visit will be a memorable experience. Trust me on this point!

This was our absolute, hands down, favorite!! It is a small production winery, family owned and operated for 5 generations. John was our guide and he is a 5th generation wine maker. This type of personalized service definitely set them apart and made it an experience I continue to rave about.

The winery also had some unique features. There was a small room built into the mountain that they have dedicated to St. Thomas. It is a unique room where they hold prayer services and small weddings.

As we wandered back through the lawn we saw a wooden door which we found out later led underground to the cellars. I will never forget when John opened the door and we saw the stairs leading underground.

When we walked through the underground wine cellar I thought I was in a Game of Thrones episode. It was so cool and dramatic. The hallway was accented by blue lighting and as I turned the corner you were greeted by all the oak barrels.

John then took us through a generous tasting and spent quality time explaining each wine in detail. At that point I was ready to invest all we had in this operation. To say I loved it would be an understatement.

The bottom line is, if you go to Bekaa Valley this winery is not to be missed!!!
