My wife and I were walking around the old town after dark and this temple was lit up beautifully so we walked onto the grounds and wandered around. It was very peaceful and everything looked so pretty. On a different day, we were heading for...More

There's not much to see but it's worth 10 minutes of your time to stop and take pictures of the architecture and statues in the yard. Make sure your shoulders are covered and you're not wearing shorts.

This wat includes a large golden standing statue of buddha. There's also an ornate rowing boat that is housed in this area.

Many difference stones were used in the inlay of the temple. A very intriguing roof here also and well as gold decoration.

From the standing Buddha to the long boats to the golden wagon, there were amazing treasures throughout the yard of this temple. We didn't get to see inside as it was closed but plan to go back to see it....it must be amazing!

Wat Sensoukaram has a dazzling appearance created by an intricate gold work overlay. Built in 1718, it is simply not to be missed. Luang Prabang is a jewel and this Wat is one of its principle gems. Not to be missed.

We visited this temple while on our way to visit the bigger Wat Xieng Thong (Golden City Temple). It is one of several temples along Sakkarine road. Slightly bigger and more beautiful than the other temples along this road. Also free to visit.

This is a working Buddhist temple with workshops. One of many enjoyable stops while walking the streets of Luang Prabang, which was such a welcome change after leaving the chaos of Bangkok.

If you happen to be walking or biking past, it's worth a quick look. No entrance fee. The paint and restoration work are nicely done. Quiet, peaceful grounds.... off the main tourist track heading toward the end of the peninsula.
