A remnant of the old wall which is now part of a busy thoroughfare into the town. Marks part of the old defense wall some of which can still be seen around the city. A monument which is part of the old city's open air...More

There was no mention of this gate in my guidebook so I was happy when I "stumbled" on it. It is located near the Schei, which was mentioned in my guidebook and I wanted to see. Catherine's Gate was the only connection into the fortified...More

Yakaterina's (Catherine's) Gate is a beautiful gate in Brasov, but one that I felt looked almost animated for a medieval gate. Personally, I think some architecture looks better when it has not been restored too much, otherwise it looks like a modern reproduction, which is...More

Nice photos and view of the mountain background. Not lots to see, but another photo gem within the Brasov Old Town.

If you go from Historic Center to 'First Romanian School Museum' than you'll see this gate, with a beautiful arhitecture.

Nice piece of history; well preserved. I think in the summer time is very nice to spend some time in the little park across the gate

This is a 5-minute lovely attraction in a part of town you should walk to. It's fairytale looking, renovated and well maintained.

Yekaterina's Gate is one of the most picturesque gates to the old town of Brasov. Part of the fabric that make Brasov such a great place to visit and stay and an essential part of a walk around the old town.

The place is full of story, so beautiful, it is magnificent to walk in front of this place, the best way to see it is by walking. Be careful with the snow in winter, it is so slippery!!!

Interesting. The name that was on the sign next to the gate, at Brasov, was "Porta Sanctae Katharinae."
