Lovely building, which was the original gate to the district and until the 1800’s the only way to enter the local district. There are lots of benches to relax and ponder the lovely building. There are benches in the shade if you are lucky enough...More

An attractive building, no longer used as a gate, that's about 90 yards further on. Not really a lot to say about it, but I do encourage the walk around the old city wall.

With its 4 turrets depicting that capital punishment applies to all visitors (back in the day), this is worth including in your downtown wanderings. Thanks for the vote if you found this review helpful.

We discovered by accident this little park, with the tower - really nice view. The children and me had a great time, the tower itself is hinting medieval times.

Brasov is pretty small and you can walk to most attractions within half a day. This gate is up near the tourist visitors centre and easily spotted because of the turrets. Great picture opportunity and some nice history attached to it.

Historical point to visit, especially if you are interested to know more about this city and its little wonders.

St Cathering's Gate is worth a visit if you have time to explore more of Brasov than its historic city centre. It is certainly picturesque, like the rest of the city centre, but has an important historical significance: it is the only original city gate...More

A remnant of the old wall which is now part of a busy thoroughfare into the town. Marks part of the old defense wall some of which can still be seen around the city. A monument which is part of the old city's open air...More

Interesting. The name that was on the sign next to the gate, at Brasov, was "Porta Sanctae Katharinae."
