So much history, and amazing views from the high point. This fortress is a nice way to spend an hour or two exploring the ruins and having a wander around. It is partially restored, but definitely not commercialised.

It's less known than Prejmer or Harman, but more authentic. The keeper showed us around and explained in detail every spot. Amazing chappel that keeps the original wall paintings. Worth going.

Fortified evangelical church was renovated between the time I wanted to visit and unfortunately we could not enter. Yet from the outside you can see architecture and thick walls .

It is being renovated right now so viewing was restricted. However it has the typical pattern of layers of small rooms for the local community during invasions. It was much needed as the fortification and it's habitants were burned to the ground by invading Turks!...More
