You have to walk through the old city filled with tourist shops and restaurants to get there. The shops have a "Turkish" influence in terms of what they sell. The bridge is beautiful and full of life wherever you look. Below by the river you...More

We went to Bosnia for the day from Dubrovnik. Enjoyed our time in Mostar. My only regret was wearing sandals. I almost twisted my angle not trying to slip on that bridge. I wouldn’t recommend going over it in a wheel chair or stroller.

This bridge is a lovely way to see the city and river from a different perspective. It is especially nice at sunset. There are many shops and restaurants nearby, so it’s easy to go up, see the view, snap a picture or two, and have...More

If you are passing through the region I’d recommend stopping in Mostar for the Stari Most. My tip is to ensure you wear good footwear because the path leading to the bridge is cobblestoned and the bridge itself is made of marble like material which...More

Very hard to put into words the emotions you feel on 1st seeing the bridge when you know what happened to it in the 1992 -1995 war. A must see experience!

Certainly a focal point in the Old Town, full of tourists of all nationalities. Don't let the crowds put you off, this bridge is steeped in history even though not the original one

Mostar in general was a different experience, driving through the city to reach the bridge we saw the impact of the war on so many building; bullet halls everywhere. However when we reached the bridge we felt like we are in a medieval town in...More

Interesting to see the bridge. Very crowded in the middle of the day, with a lot of touristbuses coming in the exact time as we went there.

Nice reconstructed historical bridge, it is a bit hard to cross it because it is very slippery but definitely worth visiting. It is the main attraction of Mostar city which got its name by this bridge.

You may also want to go into the mosque which is open to visitors for a small fee. Not being Muslim it was interesting to me to go in to see what it looks like inside. From the side garden by the river, it's a great photo... More
