This is it! I think this might be the most unique landmark in Pristina, as it is unlike any other... NEWBORN in itself is nothing special, and I was rather surprised that it sits on a large sidewalk, not even a square or park... that...More

Not really interesting to look at, but it is a symbol of the city's liberation from war time. If you are in the area see it, otherwise not really worth it.

This monument has more meaning than aesthetics. In July 2018, the letters were pllain but covered in graffiti. The "bo" in born hand been replaced with "10" for the tenth anniversary of the country. Not something worth seeking out.

Found it great that they kept updating the monument but also found the graffiti a little distracting.

So the monument is covered in graffiti, it also no longer says newborn, but now is new10rn. Also, beer distributors pull right up in front of the monument to make deliveries so no chance getting a goid photo unless it's the middle of the night.

The monument changes its appearance from time to time. It was unveiled on 17th February 2008 when Kosovo formally declared its independence from Serbia.

This is a centrally located intriguing monument. Great modern art for a new country. You can get miniatures in all the souvenir shops.

If you are interested enough to come to Pristina, you aren’t going to miss the Newborn Monument! Not because it is an artistic masterpiece, but for everything it stands for, and means to the populatian of Kosava.

I loved this simple monument to the new born state of Kosovo. When I saw the monument it read as NEW10RN as the tenth anniversary of Kosovo becoming a nation was being celebrated. The graffiti just adds to the birth pangs.

Good to finally get to see the Newborn monument in person after seeing it so many times in pictures. It is modern and quirky and symbolises Prishtina and the whole of Kosovo. For the 10th anniversary the "B" of the monument had been replaced with...More
