I looked for ages for this well, and eventually found it by chance rucked away in a quiet little side street as the best bits often tend to be. At first look this doesn't look much and it would be tempting to dismiss this as...More

This unusual well was for a long time the only source of fresh water in the town. We were told various myths about why this was the case but probably it was because this was such an effective mechanism to source the deep underground water....More

If you walk in Kotor small streets and alleys you will probably see this well. It is nice but not something outstanding that you have never seen before.

During a walk/explore of the old town there are so many things to see and admire. this structure of metal doesn't look appealing at first glance, however, at one time it was the only source fresh water for the town.

This well was where the people from Kotor got their water until the early part of the 20th century. It is a nice scientific example from the past and worth taking a look.

An interestingly designed water fountain tucked away in a small corner of the old town of Kotor. They said it was the prime source of water for a long time. Art meets science !

Look closely to find this beatiful well in one of the winding maze like streets of Kotor. It's lovely but in the summer will be surrounded by cafe tables and gelato stands. There are nicer wells along the mountain wall that are surrounded with plants...More
