Little explanation in English, no English guide. Was hoping to see the "padded cell" but was not available. A little hard to find but free and nice for a quick visit.

Cannot recommend this place enough for people who are interested in the history of Lviv, and the sad, and all too recent, things that have happened to the Ukraine people here. It has been left 'as-is' and that is unusual these days. It is free...More

One of the prisons used by the soviet union and also the nazis for the imprisonment, torture and execution of political prisoners. The place is very haunting and chilling. I would recommend going with a guide if you can. There was some information available in...More

Call ahead and make sure they are open. Then also ask for a guided tour in the language of your choice. This prison was an unfortunate part of history. Housing and torturing political prisoners under the Soviet Union.

This museum is one of the places that we must keep visiting and we must keep preserving to remember the past and to learn from it. It is very difficult to really understand and feel what happened in that place, a visit is highly recommended.

Really good musuem, it gave me the emotion about the place, since it is not changed since the last prisoners were there. It also is free.

A place where you can breath the tragic history of the city. The prison remained untouched throughout the years and is definitely a must-see to understand the city. The entrance to the museum is for free and also the guided excursion. The staff is very...More
