We enjoyed mooching around the narrow pedestrianised streets. There are lots of independent shops and places to stop for refreshments. It’s a very pretty town and way less busy than Dubrovnik.

Another one of the many Unesco protected sites in Croatia. A beautiful city and a lot of walking - we were there on the day of the World Cup finals so the town squares were crowded with people in a celebratory and upbeat mood -...More

A small old town but packed with historical goodies going back to Roman times - buzzing with bars and restaurants and right by the coast and the boat trips.

What a great place! With all the narrow cobbled streets opening up in to small squares. You could just imagine what it was like here centuries ago, as the architecture is stunning! You can just amble along and get lost amongst these winding streets..... But...More

I like old split. I really enjoy the cobblestone streets, tons of shops and restaurants. A lot of history here and the people are friendly.

Split gave me a peek on beautiful heritage of Croatia. I loved the narrow streets and the gates! Also I enjoyed Diocletian’s Palace very much 😊 I wish there was more time and less tourists everywhere

If coming to Split, you will be missing out if you didn’t visit Old Split. Small narrow roads, no cars, just enough space for foot traffic. Old building some looking white ancient. Small alleyways suddenly opening out into squares with small shops and eating places....More

Old split is a medieval palace/ fortress turned into a compact city. Don't miss seeing the vaults under the city and the city museum, which is a gem. Go early if you want to get up in the bell tower, without standing in long queue....More

Nikki, we had a kitchen in our appartment and only ate once. We were located just to the south of the market area just outside the old city. There are a couple of supermarkets in this area and things like prepared lasagne... More
