It was very crowded the day we visited. There really isn't much to see but it is beautiful. I would recommend a walking tour so you can learn more about the history of The Peristlye.

The Diocletian Castle would be ok if viewed on your own. However, I was fortunate to take a tour w Natasa Divac a guide with “blue umbrella “ walking tour company. Her knowledge of the history of Split, the Castle, the political climate, etc brought...More

This area usually has bands or single musicians playing nightly while travelers sit around the rectangular "square" on concrete steps or cushions if you're patrons of the adjacent restaurant. You can also order drinks from your spot on the steps. Very cool, casual and lively...More

If you come to Split you must visit this area. Take in the enormity of what surrounds you here. Built in 305AD and then partially sacked by Christians for several centuries it’s still one of the best kept ancient Roman cities. It is magnificent!!

Great place to grab an ice cream and sit for a while. Always seems to some activity. While we were there they were setting up for shows in the evening. Access to the underground market and tunnels is through here as well.

In the evening you can sit on cushons where there is a restaurant that will serve you food and/or drink. There was live entertainment on, which made for a lovely evening.

One of the central hubs of the area - concerts held here during festivals. Entrance to the Cathedral round the corner. Entrance to the bell Tower here. Underground basement area accessible also. The tourist information centre is situated here. So many photo opportunities here.

Its liking being on huge sets of movie troy! The palace is sort of in the middle of the town so no matter from which side you entire wont miss it. Take a moment to relax and soak in.

This square-like Palace was our favourite spot in the whole city. We spent every night there where the combination of the ancient ruins of the Palace, the great lighting and the live music compose one dreamy image that makes you travel in the past. Beautiful...More

There is no fee, it's free to visit the palace and Peristyle.
