The guide was superb in explaining the beautiful ruins as the convent was impacted by the earthquake. It was not hard to workout what it was like. There is a small garden which is well kept kept with plants and flowers.

Great place to visit and imagine what it must have been like before it was ruined by an earthquake. The courtyard is lovely to see and you get some nice views etc for pictures.

That people destroy places of history by the need to write on walls is terrible. Some of these ruins in Antigua have unfortunately fallen prey to this. The arches, openings, fountain, and layers of exposed walls are beautiful to photograph. The catacombs are nothing.

So I have visited La Merced and I have visited Las Capuchinas but Santa Clara was simply mind blowing! They might have less information on site, but I loved to enjoy the ruins as they are: raw and beautiful. You walk in to a smaller...More

Convent of the Clarisas in the colonial times. Still in fair condition to see and imagine what it looked liked. There are many nun's secrets in this place. Discover them!

The entrance is fairly cheap and therefore the place is worth your visit. We found the place to have a poor conservation status, which is a shame, because the Convent itself is impressive.
