The view from the top on a windy high surf reminded me of a minature version of Cliffs of Moher in Ireland. The contrast of volcanic rocks in the cliff , the clear pristine water, waves crashing onto the rocks and the crescent of white...More

We almost missed the picnic ground and walk down to the beach as the sign is quite small. We drove around a couple of bends and walked into a property where the gun club was located and we spotted the track down to the beach...More

A long walk down (over 1/2 km) to the bay, but fairly easy walking as the path wound down in a fairly gentle slope. You still need to be reasonably fit as you need to walk back up again! But it was worth it when...More

When you get to Anson Bay (we got there on private property that you are allowed to stoll on) you are confronted with a large cliff top view of the water and island. Lovely view from a few vantage points. The walk down to the...More

This was the first viewing of Norfolk Island it took my breath away and loved viewing from the cliff top location, but I was annoyed that I couldn't find the way down to the beach to discover further this gloriously isolated beach bay.

This was a highlight of our drive around the island and exploring, we had a rental car so we could just take our time and explore the coastline.

It is definitely a hidden gem. It is well worth the travel to the bay. We were heading for the Captain Cook Memorial and this was a pleasant surprise.

This is probably the most beautiful bay on Norfolk Island. You won't be able to stop taking photos of the lush green vegetation against the many blues of the sea below, from deep navy blue to the lightest, prettiest aqua, it's absolutely gorgeous.

There is a mowed zigzag path down to the beach and relatively easy. A spectacular beach but too dangerous for swimming.

I don't know if they even have 4WD cars to hire. You will get a free car usually with your accommodation and you just need a normal car. If you see a sign that says "impassable when wet", they mean it so don't attempt it if... More
