When you hear the word cathedral, images of majestic soaring arches, marble, buttresses and grandeur come to mind. This cathedral is so quaint, capturing the essence of Greenland. The red wooden panels with the wooden church tower make this a unique cathedral. Inside it consists...More

There aren’t many things to see in Nuuk, but this one should be on the list. Unfortunately when I went there the church was closed (so plan in advance); it still was worth the visit, the building is beautiful as it is the surrounding area....More

A calm and peaceful building that we were lucky to see. We tried the door and it was unlocked by the lady who organises confirmations and she let us look inside and feel the atmosphere. It was a short visit and very worthwhile.

I happened to be there on Sunday Morning so it was packed with locals but it is a very lovely building. Of you're in Nuuk, I would suggest going to see it but I wouldn't go out of your way to.

By Greenland standards this is an impressive building. It's peaceful and tranquil inside. It's a harsh place to live and shows a lot of comittment by the locals to build it.

We happen to be here right before a church ceremony, so the church was decorate with flowers and looked incredibly lovely. Very simple in the usual nordic way but quite sweet. You should not miss it.

Nuuk is quite quiet. The Cathedral even quieter. Well worth a visit to get an impression of life in a harsh climate. You can feel how much the sense of community means to the people when you step inside. Not to be missed.
