If you want to learn about Ancient Macedonian history go to Pella, Vergina and Thessaloniki in Macedonia in Greece. It is a shame that they change and disconnect historical evidences from Hellinistic times in order to accommodate a political effort to create new non-slavic identities....More

A mammoth building in just the right place with a phenomenal collection of coins, jewelry and pottery. And yet some of the curatorial decision-making seems a touch unfortunate, reminiscent of the stodgy museums of ethnology and archaeology found across the Balkans and former Soviet Union....More

A treasure house of objects from 1000s of years of Macedonian history. The English translations could be a bit better but the objects are fascinating and well displayed

We were not fully satisfied with the visit. The exhibits particularly of coins, pottery and jewellery are impressive and the wax figures of historical people add to the experience but we quickly got bored because of the lack of information and missing audio-visual experience and...More

Like all others museums that we have visited in our eurotrips, this one was also very interesting. Macedonia was a country that belonged to many great empires and in the archeological museum you can have the opportunity to see every influence from those empires. If...More

Your hotel desk clerk should be able to ascertain the hours at this time of year. I think they were 10-6 this summer. They may also have an English language website that you can check.
