To have first-run independent films available that multiplex movie houses aren't interested in is a gem to find. We traveled an hour to get to see Alfonso Cuaron's indie film, "Roma" which was one of the very few places to offer a viewing. Customer service...More

Amherst Cinema offers films that often are not shown in the "regular" theaters. Plus they have very comfortable seats, Good snacks and drinks. But it's mainly the movie selection that stands out for them.

Is it the quality of films Amherst Cinema Arts Center shows? Or the cleanliness? Or the caring? Or the community support? Or the easiest parking ever? Oh yeah. All of the above. My visits to Amherst Cinema are among the most satisfying in my world.

A vibrant part of the five college community. The theater brings many films you can't see anywhere else, plus showings of National Theater and other special events. Well curated. 100% solar powered! Plus their homemade popcorn with real butter is the best around.
