There were just a few boats...it's a very small area but fun to walk around. It's surrounded by restaurants and shops so there is no way you won't bump in to it.

Ego Alley gets it's name from the boats that moor along the quay. It is a pleasant walk around the area, offering views of Eastport across the harbor, with boats at mooring buoys in the anchorage area. In the harbor, especially from Spring through Autumn...More

Not sure why this is listed as an attraction. More for the locals to show off their stuff to the joneses.

I can't think of another city I've visited where there is an Ego Alley. Still a fantastic place to check out boats of all kinds and great people watching. If you are staying on one of the moorings a nice place to dock your dinghy...More

Watch the parade of boats that traverse this narrow channel to see and be seen in your new craft. Park it here if you wish. Many fine restaurants and shops line the shore.

If you love boats, you can get right up close to many of them as they refuel. Also, lots of eateries all around you, super convenient. Lastly, year-round public restrooms are available here.

It is always fun to be downtown no matter the season. In the colder months you can dine at a resturant downtown and enjoy the view as well as stroll along the harbor's edge. In the summer, it's a lot of fun to watch people...More

As others note, Jan in MD is cold. IF you are lucky, the harbor will be frozen with ice skaters present. Maybe it doesn't get as old as when we were kids, but it makes for a nice winter scene. You are only steps away from an... More

Certainly, and there are many outdoor cafes that allow dogs. Indoors is not allowed because of silly health dept rules. Not as liberal as Europe, but outdoors is fine.
