Spending 3 months on the road, we found Palmetto State park to be one of our favorites. We saw plenty of wild life including alligators and deer. Lots of places to walk the dog. We kept extending our stay day by day. RV friendly

This is our favorite of Louisiana’s State Parks. Very well maintaned, clean, modern, spacious bathrooms and showers, very helpful staff, and awesome large splash pad area for the kids!

Ok. $3.00 per person is not bad! So much to do. Camping- tent, RV, cabin, etc. Splash pad. Loads of hiking. Canoe rentals ($25/day). Wildlife! Quiet!

The park is beautiful and the campsites are lovely. The restrooms/showers appear relatively new, but are not kept clean. We stayed five nights and all five nights campers blared music all day and way past 10pm. Where were the park rangers or camp hosts? Beautiful...More

This is really nice campground. Most of the spaces between the campsites are a good distance. There are a lot of trees so there is a good amount of shade. There are hiking trails and canoe trails. The comfort stations are clean and airconditioned. Alligator...More

The showers were individual, with shower curtains on each. There was a small dressing area in the front of each shower. They were always clean. Excellent campground hosts.
