Boy, they print a currency with your photo as a memento and that too instantly.. Very unique visit and they have coins dating right from BC onwards on display and very well documented with complete history of these numerous coins and currencies. Great getting to see all these wonderful items on display. Entry is free but you will need to deposit your passports in the Security before you are allowed entry. Go for it and ensure that you do not miss this place....

I learned about this attraction from our Walking Tour Guide so after the tour was over, I visited. this attraction.

Entrance is FREE and I was asked to leave a picture ID before they gave me an access card.

The museum is small, exhibits include paper bills and coins used at various times. What I like most were the Gold Bars on display inside a glass container and the paper money they printed that has my picture on it!

Highly recommended to visit!

My friend and I went to this exhibit and we both had a great half and hour (or so) there. It has Serbian banknotes and coins from contemporary and old times (Yugoslavian). It also has exhibits on the Euro and American dollar, Ancient Greek coins and some machines used for making money. (there’s more too, but I can’t remember all the specifics)

You can take photos without a flash and can also get your photo on a fake Serbian banknote, for free! I’d even have paid to enter the “museum” and for the banknote!

My friend had to give her ID to the -slightly grumpy- man in the office at the bottom of the stairs, though I didn’t need to give mine.

*I was reading about a strict dress code on Trip Advisor, but I wasn’t told my sneakers weren’t allowed. However, because it’s winter I don’t know about shorts not being allowed (but enough people say this that I’d not come dressed in shorts).

We read about this small museum and had to stop in when we read we could be "our own money" (think of scene from Coming to America). We were not sure we were in the right place because it is in a bank headquarters with little signage. Come ready to leave an ID which you retrieve upon exit, and then head upstairs to the small but informative museum. It is amazing to see how fast inflation changed their currency and how high the denominations went. Ask the attendant for a souvenir, but be ready they don't wait for you the get the right pose before they snap the picture.

You can get a banknote with your picture on it for free! It is the best souvenir of the city! However it is important to know tnat there is dress code, no sport shoes or shorts for men and no strapless clothes for women for the bank museum entry, so you need to be properly dressed to be printed on the banknote.

We love visiting money/bank museums in different cities. We have discovered over the last few years that these museums are usually a) free and b) excellent as they are located in stunning palace-like buildings of a bygone era. The display is quite small, however ticks all the boxes, plenty of money to look at, you can run your hands over folds of money, and lift a gold ingot. We also learned all about the financial crash caused by the war in the 1990s and even had our pictures printed onto Serbian bank notes. All good fun. Definitely worth a visit.

Note: make sure you have photo id as you will need it to get in.

I hadn't read about this anywhere and was only told about it by our guide on a free walking tour. Essentially, between 10am-4pm Monday to Friday, you can enter the bank (bring photograph ID) and head to the money museum. The museum has plenty of historical currency and has information in English.

It traces the development of money in Serbia then throughout the Yugoslavia period and into today. It is crazy to see the multiple billion dinar notes that were issued during hyper-inflation.

Keen for a souvenir? Well, you can get your photograph taken and it comes out on a printed dinar replica note! How much does the museum and this personalised Serbian takeaway cost? Nothing! A really cool thing to do, just be prepared to try a couple of times to be granted access (we were denied entry one day then allowed the next).

If you hand over your ID at the entrance you can make your way up to the small museum. This on its own is nice enough, the exhibitions are well presented and would be very interesting if you liked currency. The building itself provides a nice setting. What makes it different from other little niche museums is that they make a bank note with your face in it. This is a great little souvenir and takes less than two minutes. The whole thing is also free!
