1 floor of uncompelling exhibit. Why do you need this and the Ethnographic museum, which is really excellent?

Although the museum itself is not that large, it's rather interesting.
Permanent exibition mainly consist of objects from XIX century, while temporary exibitions are much more interesting and very frequent.

I was there last week, on the last Sunday of the month when it is free. I guess my note would be even lower if I had to pay the netrance as there is really nothing much to see there. I have been t many many museums, but even for Belgrade, it is too little and too empty.

Or I visited when they were moving some exhibits or smth, as one floor was totally empty.

The main exhibition was ' Chairs - Centuries of Style' and showcases chairs from the 19th and 20th centuries in Europe and Asia. The additional exhibition in the basement is of drawings of chairs over the centuries by a Serbian artist. The permanent exhibition is ' At First Sight', which features furniture and artefacts from the 19th and 20th centuries from UK, Europe and Asia. Take into account that the museum is closed on Sundays and Mondays. I highly recommend it if you are interested in art and design.

This museum is superbly located, being so close to the most famous pedestrian area of Belgrade (Knez Mihailova Street) and in such a nice building.

Houses some great temporary exibitions, such as the art of Japan dolls, for example. Usually all those exibitions have great audio-visual background, so they're worth visiting.

Although I'm not in the field of the art, I was attracted by the content of such interesting museum as this one, in the street of Vuk Karadzic, It is located in the core of the municipality of Stari Grad ( Old Town ) in Belgrade. Near is very renown, old hotel Palace. I visited it last summer when during the hot days I just needed to be in some cool, nice place, looking at some art items. And I didn't regret since I saw not only the permanent exhbition by which this museum is known already over the sixty years, but also the temporary shows that accompany all the time the main exhibition.
Here You can see the arifacts that include jewelry, manuscripts and printed books, then very nice objects carved in wood, horns, mother - of - pearl, painted icons and many other things. The building itself is of the end of nineteenth and beginning of twentieth century architectural design ,with high windows, some elegant, thin columns on the frontal facade and arcs between them.

The building is in the very centre, there is a gift shop, open 10-19 except on Sundays and Mondays. The temporary exhibition consists of furniture and household items, mostly used in Serbia. There is one item painted by a famous Serbian painter Nadežda Petrović. The temporary exhibition was terribly boring as it was all about the buildings and architecture of Belgrade. It might mean a great deal to an architect, but not to a regular person. Finally, the floor that had the exhibition about Le Corbusier was closed for public on that day.No food available for purchase.
