Bucharest downtown, located right in the city centre, is a very good meeting place because if you start your walking tour from here you have many options: Piata Unirii, Piata Romana and Piata Victoriei, from here is also close Cismigiu Park.
While this is a very touristic part of town (next to the Intercontinental hotel), the square itself is not that interesting, but rather the surrounding buildings and parks.
To top it all, it's quite noisy and hectic, day and night.
