Iconic park in Bucharest, almost always packed with gangs of seniors playing chess. Perfect for a morning run if you're accommodated in a nearby hotel. You can run on the shady alleys around the lake, then grab a coffee from one of the coffee vans hidden under chestnut trees. It's also a good place to have a beer and read a book in an lazy summer afternoon. Cons: it's invaded by pigeons, so the alleys are sometimes covered in pigeon’s droppings.…

A nice city park with a large pond with shaded paths. What I really noticed is the deferred maintenance. Most benches, some on the shaded (by trees) main path are really pretty, need sanding and painting.Some are sort of crumbling. There is a small garden with busts of Romanian literary figures but maintenance needed. On the pond there is a pizzeria restaurant and one has a view of the pond.One can rent boats and pedalo boats.…

I walked to the Parliament Building and found these beautiful gardens in the middle of the city. What a place! There were many people, all in masks and social distancing as well as others paddling small boats in a lake. It was beautiful and refreshing.
