Transylvania and Dracula's Castle Full Day Tour from Bucharest

665 reviews
No visit to Romania would be complete without ticking off Transylvania, where ancient castles are set against backdrops of dramatic rolling hills. See the best of the region without having to worry about car hire or navigation on a day trip from Bucharest, which offers a great introduction to local history for first-time visitors.

Still some crumbling buildings, as one sees all over Bucharest but vast majority renovated. The problem is that the focus is on the many very touristy mid market restaurants and bars. Part town for the younger crowd. It felt like very touristy Spanish destinations. Every restaurant has someone at their door trying to pull you in. This starts to get really annoying after having passed five restaurant. Hardly any shops really. Definitely and area one could skip or avoid the restaurant/bar streets.

This area is hangout capital. Its located in Old Town and is famous for its bars and restaurants and just a party atmosphere for visitors and wsp. young people. It's a lovely area if you want to be in the limelight somewhat, however it can be very crowded at nights.

I was last in Bucharest in 2011 so lots of positive changes in Lipscani, the Old town in Bucharest. More restaurants, more apartments, less abandoned buildings. A good walk to browse into the shops -- I am sure even busier in the warm weather when one can sit outside at a cafe and appreciate the architecture

A bunch of bars and clubs where you can have fun with your friends. In the weekend night times if really crowded, full of teenagers.
