It's not the biggest or most charming mosque that I see in the World but it's the last remaining Turkish mosque in Sofia. It's still actively used and also open for visitors.

This was somewhat interesting, but we've seen a lot of Mosques and nothing really stood out about this one for us.

Not much to see on the inside, but it's a lovely place of worship. The ceiling is decorated with beautiful designs and inscriptions.

I thoroughly enjoyed my visit here. As previous reviews say, it is the only working mosque in the city. Bear in mind that you will not be allowed in during prayer times. You will have to remove your shoe and ladies will have to cover...More

This is Sofia's only working mosque. It was built in 1576 so the building has a lot of history. They have a supply of scarfs and robes so that you can enter the mosque modestly dressed. The mosque is light and airy inside which is...More

This is one place of worship out of many faiths represented in this area. There are also Catholic, Belgian Orthodox and Jewish places of worship all within sight of each other. This mosque is traditionally built with a minaret and is next to the old...More

It's the first time I entered a Mosque. It was a bother to take off your shoes and go inside with my socks, my wife would not dream of wearing any of the scarfs or gowns that were available outside the Mosque. It was an...More

Beautiful architecture and colorful windows, however I found the atmosphere a little surprisingly sterile for a mosque.

After the plethora of Orthodox churches, the Banya Bashi Moque is worth at least quick visit. Unlike most churches, the mosque permits photography. After the dark heaviness of Orthodox interiors, the light, bright interior of the mosque is something of a relief. Take your shoes...More
