Intersting old mosque will take up 15 of your miniutes. If you are in the city centre it is worth the time.

The mosque is lovely and it gives you a chance to make a brief stop into the 16th Century. You will want to take off your shoes and have a scarf handy. I forgot my scarf, but had my rain hat. My daughter pulled up...More

It roots to 16th century. It's not the best and/or the big one, but out of Muslim countries it is one of the good protected one. You may find a simple but good interior as well.

Definitely worth visiting this mosque. The red brick plain looking exterior is a sharp contrast to how beautifully decorated the interior is. Make sure to remove your shoes and cover your heads before entering the mosque.

The mosque seems very big from outside, because the walls are more than a meter thick. Inside is more humble space. The lady guide tour was very polite, explained a lot about the mosque and the religious symbols and rituals.

This mosque is the one of the biggest in Balkans. It's very old (completed in 1566). Banya Bashi is situated in the very center of the city. Do have a look, and, if you want, go inside to admire its beauty.

Located on the 'square of tolerance' this is one of only two working mosques in Sofia. I removed my shoes and walked inside. It's well decorated inside and I felt welcomed by the men within.
