As we took a car on the way to Neves, we wanted to see Praia tamarind, a beautiful place and a beautiful beach, but, so much pollution around, dump and beach are close. When you turn around watch the waves and take a bath -...More

This very long beach on the north side of the island is relatively easily accessible. There are no services on the beach. There is construction (dredging I think) which mars the ambience a bit. There is a memorial to the Massacre at the northern end...More

Difficult to get to, need a 4wd if you take the track between the 2 beaches. Beach is clean sand etc , water warm. The parking area is filthy with garbage- bottles , cans etc. Lots of tamarind trees hence the name .

We took a much needed swim at Tamarind Beach during our guided tour of the north. Unfortunately there is a lot of littering tarnishing the natural beauty of the area.

After disappointment at the Blue Lagoon (pretty, but no beach to speak of), we set our sights on making it to Praia dos Tamarindos for a picnic lunch and a swim. Unfortunately, our google maps route (possibly due to our navigator not paying attention) took...More

Despite the road, this beach is worth visiting and spending a day with family and friends. Good for kids and a great swim.
